My Go-To Packing List: Ready for Anything
Hey Wallflower Explorers! 👋
Let's be real: packing can be stressful. Do I have enough? Too much? What if the weather changes? As someone who loves to feel prepared (and cozy!), I’ve refined my packing strategy over the years to create a universal list that works for almost any destination, any season.
This isn't just about throwing clothes in a suitcase; it's about smart layers, essential tech, and those little comfort items that make a foreign hotel room feel a bit more like home. Consider this your stress-free packing list!
A Wallflower's Universal Packing List
1. Smart Clothing Layers: The Foundation of Comfort 👚🧣
My biggest secret to versatile packing? Layers, layers, layers! This allows you to adapt to unexpected weather swings and varying indoor temperatures.
Base Layers (3-4): Think comfortable t-shirts, tank tops, or light long-sleeved tops. Merino wool is a game-changer for temperature regulation and odor resistance!
Mid-Layers (2-3): A cozy cardigan, a lightweight fleece, or a stylish sweater. Something you can easily add or remove.
Outer Layer (1): A waterproof and windproof jacket. This is non-negotiable! Even if it’s sunny, unexpected rain or chilly evenings happen.
Bottoms (2-3): Versatile pants (like dark jeans or travel trousers), comfortable leggings, or a skirt/shorts depending on destination.
Dressier Option (1): A simple black dress or a nicer top/bottom combo that can be dressed up or down.
Sleepwear (1-2): Comfortable PJs for those precious hotel room resets.
Undergarments (7-10): Enough for a week, plus a couple of extra.
Socks (5-7): A mix of ankle socks and warmer options, depending on climate. Wool socks are great for hiking or cold weather.
2. Footwear: Happy Feet, Happy Traveler 👟🥾
You'll be walking a lot. Do not skimp here!
Comfortable Walking Shoes (1 pair): Your absolute go-to. Make sure they’re broken in!
Versatile Dressier Shoe (1 pair): Something that works for evenings or slightly nicer outings, but is still comfortable to walk in (e.g., stylish flats, ankle boots, nice sandals).
Flip-Flops/Sliders (1 pair): For hotel rooms, shared showers, or relaxing at a beach.
3. Tech & Connectivity: Stay Charged & Connected 🔌📱
These are my lifelines for navigation, communication, and capturing memories.
Smartphone & Charger: Obvious, but don't forget it!
Portable Power Bank: For those long days out exploring.
Universal Travel Adapter: A must-have for international travel.

These are the things that make a trip feel less overwhelming and more "you."
Medication: Any prescriptions, plus a small kit of pain relievers, antacids, bandaids, anything you’ll need!
Toiletries: Mini versions of your essentials (shampoo, conditioner, soap, moisturizer, toothbrush, toothpaste).
Small Towel: A lightweight, quick-dry travel towel is surprisingly handy.
Eye Mask & Earplugs: Essential for good sleep on planes and in noisy hotel rooms.
Small Hand Sanitizer & Tissues: Always useful.
