Las Vegas: Omega Mart & Fremont Street
The first time I was in Las Vegas, I was told to go to Omega Mart for a very unique immersive art experience.
This time, I wasn’t going to miss the chance.
My friends and I started the day with brunch at the Peppermill — an off-strip restaurant with super cool vibes and delicious food.

When we were about ready to burst, we got back in the car and drove to Omega Mart. The best way I can explain Meow Wolf’s Omega Mart is that it is a wildly immersive science fiction story.
You start by walking into what looks like a normal supermarket. But a closer look will reveal this might be a supermarket in an alternate reality. The products are all wonky and build the world of this story.
Exploring Omega Mart (Aug 2024)
Then it’s time to get creative and explore! The more you connect with your inner child and poke around the supermarket, you’ll uncover doors to a dark and funky world full of details that move the story of this world along.
Give yourself a couple of hours to wander this exhibit, at least. It’s huge and impressive, and you’ll want to see it all.
Drinks at the Omega Mart bar (Aug 2024)
There’s even a bar inside Omega Mart! We stopped by for a drink and one last chance to take it all in, before heading to the gift shop and then heading back out.
Dinner at Esther’s Kitchen (Aug 2024)
A long afternoon of wandering means we all were in need of a great dinner. So we had made a reservation to eat at Esther’s Kitchen — an Italian restaurant close to downtown Vegas.
The food was absolutely incredible. We all ordered different things so we could try a bit of everything. Warm peaches, pasta, flatbread. It was all to die for.
Bright lights on Fremont Street (Aug 2024)
And then, of course, it was time to head to downtown Vegas and see the nightlife on Fremont Street!
My friend wanted to do the Fly Over Fremont zip line, but the line was a little too long, so we took the chance to wander and just take everything in.
When you think of Vegas, you probably think of Fremont: bright, flashing lights, the ringing sounds of slot machines drifting into the streets. It was very cool to see in person.
Another successful day in Vegas in the books! Tomorrow, we’d be taking a trip out of Vegas to Red Rock Canyon.
