Las Vegas: Red Rock Canyon

My friends and I had an incredible week in Vegas, but our day in Red Rock Canyon was one of my favourites.

I love a light hike, and a light hike in the desert is my newest happy place.

It was over 40 degrees Celsius that day, so we were really the only ones at the National Park. We drove around the main loop of the park, and stopped at each viewpoint to go for a little walk, and then get back into the cool AC.

We spent a couple of hours enjoying the scenery of Red Rock Canyon before getting in the car for the last time, and driving off to our next destination: a cool treat.

Stopping at Yonutz Donutz was a chance we took, needing an ice cream sandwich. But we were all so glad to have gotten a Yonutz Donut.

It was a donut sliced in half with ice cream in the middle. And while that sounds really heavy and sweet, it was actually super light and refreshing.

Highly recommend trying their ice cream sandwiches!

Seven Magic Mountains (Aug 2024)

On our way back to Vegas, we made a quick stop at Seven Magic Mountains — a colourful piece of art in the middle of the Nevada desert. It’s only a short drive from the Vegas strip, and totally worth seeing.

After a long morning of walking, we chose to have a restful afternoon before dinner. My friend Steph and I went to the Voie Spa at Paris Las Vegas for a pedicure while the boys had a rest in the hotel.

Then we got dressed up and ready for a nice dinner at Beauty & Essex at the Cosmo!

Tomato soup dumplings at Beauty & Essex (Aug 2024)

This meal was one of the best dinners on our trip. We indulged in perfectly cooked steak, garlic asparagus, and delicious desserts.

But the best part of the meal for me was the tomato soup dumplings. Absolutely out of this world.

At that point, I thought we would call it a day, but it turns out we were all getting a second wind and were in the mood to go out again. So we decided to head over to the Coyote Ugly at New York, New York to go dancing.

Coyote Ugly (Aug 2024)

We were there around 9:00 p.m. which I guess is early for dancing in Vegas, because the club was pretty empty. But the few groups that were there were getting into the energy of the place.

I always love dancing, no matter how many people are around, and it was so fun to hang out and dance with my friends along with the performers.

Once it started to get busier, we decided it was a good time to head back to the hotel for the night.
